The Horror, The Horror!

Got the MS Press book for 70-297 on Friday evening and read it over the weekend. Picked up a few nuggets but most of it wasn't new. The main reason I got it was for the exam prep software on the CD-ROM.

Not much information on this one online. There are a few horror stories - people running out of time. I suppose this is mainly due to the fact that you have only 20 mins or so per scenario. I think I'll start with the questions and work backwards (ie read the scenario after answering the questions).

Recently passed this exam, and since I read that some people here had some problems with it (and there is precious little info on the web) - I figured I would pass
along some advice...

1) Don't waste time by reading the scenario first, just look at the diagrams to get an overview of how many sites you're dealing with and plunge head first into the
questions.

2) Make a quick pass through all of the questions and try to answer them using best practices. Most of the time, the answers should be self evident.

3) Make a second pass and try to dig through the scenario for reasons not to use best practices.

4) As for what to study - read up on the 2003 deployment kit, understand the best practices for forest design, understand the best practices placement of servers for
DNS / WINS / DC / GC / FSMO, and get down and dirty with migration strategies and the ADMT.

My own experience with the tesp prep confims this. Thank you masked man!
